Diaphragm seal solutions

Badotherm has become the specialist in the field of diaphragm seal solutions. For standard diaphragm seal systems, our applications are the best in industry in terms of durability and performance. But especially in challenging and extreme process conditions, our knowledge and experience have resulted in some specific solutions.

Gold coated / plated diaphragm seals Temperature compensator diaphragm seals

Hydrogen permeation - hydrogen is the simplest and smallest atomic element. Hydrogen atoms (H+ ions) can permeate through the molecular structure of the metal isolation diaphragm (75 µm thickness) of the seal. To prevent this, Badotherm has developed the best-in-industry gold coated diaphragm seals. The standard solution is a 24crt 40µm thickness gold-coating. To meet customer and market requirements, Badotherm has widened its offering of gold coatings with several options.

When using diaphragm seals in processes with extreme temperatures occur in combination with low pressure (e.g. 185 degrees C at a pressure of 5mbara), it is extremely difficult to create a acceptable solution in terms of measurement. As such, Badotherm has developed a unique temperature compensator. This solution compensates for temperature and for response times.

Basecal (diaphragm seal engineering tool) Diaphragm leak detection system

Badotherm has developed a calculation software for the design and engineering of pressure transmitters with diaphragm seals. With Basecal the temperature effect and response times are being calculated.

A leaking diaphragm is often detected too late, with harmful and costly consequences to the process or the environment. As a solution to this problem, Badotherm has developed the MDS-system for diaphragm seal applications.

LGP seals - for controlling low gauge pressure  Diaphragm seal process simulation facility

Badotherm has developed a new method for measuring and controlling nitrogen blanketing in a corroding environment with a diaphramg seal and transmitter application. Results show that the Badotherm diaphragm and measure a 20x lower pressure than standard diaphragms seals. Next to improved proces control, it results in considerable savings in nitrogen consumption.

In situations with transmitters and diaphragm seal(s) where ultimate accuracy is required, Badotherm offer their unique process simulation facility. Badotherm have the possibility to simulate simultaneously the following process conditions:
* Static pressure/vacuum
* Process temperatures  (high / low pressure side)
* Ambient temperatures (high / low pressure side
* Calibrated span.
