Welding certification and qualification

Badotherm products are engineered and manufactured to meet the tough requirements of the demanding industries they are used in. Many of our instrument combinations and assemblies contain components that are welded together. Hence it’s good to know that all Badotherm welders are highly skilled and professionally trained and certified. They have the required qualifications and certifications and successfully passed their performance qualification tests, such as Lloyds Register or TUV.

Just to give an example: For capillary welds to the instrument and the diaphragm seal, our welders are certified to perform this weld under both ISO 9606-1 as the ASME BVPC IX. Needless to say that several NDE testing could be performed on these welds, such as liquid penetrant testing, helium leak testing and pressure testing.

Update 18 feb 2021

Today again some good developments to share: we added more materials to the list of welding certifications (WPQ / PQR acc. ASME IX):
– Zirconium 702 diaphragm to Zirconium 702 seal body
– 25-22-2 diaphragm to an AISI 310 MoLn body.

Both of these materials are often required in the fertilizer industry (UREA) as they withstand the aggressive process conditions.

Read more about this in our whitepapers.

At the moment, together with one of the leading licensors, we are developing a new material for diaphragm, to get our list of UREA related materials completed!
