Jaimie joined Badotherm two years ago and can tell us first-hand how it feels to become part of this 65-year-old technology company. Jaimie tells us about his first experiences, “from day one I felt like -one of the guys- and was warmly welcomed“. He continues, “I’ve learned a lot from the others in the team. It’s a combination of learning - on the job – and getting my welding qualifications. But most importantly, I’ve got great mentors here.”.
One of his favourite tasks is to perform precision welding jobs behind the manipulator. “Sometimes the work becomes like my second nature, it brings me into a rhythm, as if I’m an octopus with many arms working in perfect harmony”.
We ask Jaimie what he believes the factors are that set Badotherm apart from other companies in the industry. He allows himself some time to think and then answers comprehensively, “it’s our passion, craftmanship, eye for precision and quality.“ He then continues and explains his answer in more detail, “We test every instrument before it leaves our factory thoroughly. End tests as well as in process tests are conducted. The devil is in the detail, those welds need to be positioned with millimetre precision.”
At the end of the interview we take some time to contemplate about the future. With the same firmness he displayed earlier he says; “I want to become an all-round specialist, just like many of my other colleagues. There is so much left to learn!”
