Badotherm Hub seal is a special design of diaphragm seal based on high pressure clamp hub connectors. This design is based on and manufactured in according with the leading manufactures, such as Destec®, Vector-Techlok®, Grayloc® or Galperti®. These type of connectors are designed for high pressure applications (>400 bar) where standard flanges cannot be used or only with extreme heavy weight, since another advantage of the Hub connector is the relative small design with a far lower load on the process installation. BHS seals can be used for either pressure measurement or differential pressure measurement (level, flow) where high static pressure occurs. The BHS can be produced with an internal diaphragm (smaller hub sizes) or a flush diaphragm (larger hub sizes), this depends on the specific application.
The ECH is a complete welded construction and designed for those applications where the process conditions are such that direct mounting of the instrument can’t be done. Applications are aggressive processes treatment, or when special wetted parts materials for pressure gauges are required. This type of diaphragm seal is used for threaded process connections and often in combination with high pressure type pressure gauges. the ECH goes up to 1000 bar. The ECH type is part of the group of EC series, that is originally designed for the compact and economical line of diaphragm seal with the least amount of material used
Industrial processes run at ever higher temperatures and pressures and need to comply to more stringent design conditions. As such, engineering designs higher pressure classes taken into consideration also the pressure temperature rating at higher temperatures. Therefore process connections and nozzles are designed with heavier pressure classes. As such, many diaphragm seal systems need to be aligned with the same requirements. Badotherm specializes in understanding the impact of these high static pressures on the whole diaphragm seal system. And for easier handling and installation, there are several options such as lifting handles or lifting eyes, to handle these heavy units with more ease.
Low pressures can be difficult to measure, but low pressures still require monitoring. With standard Diaphragm Seals the limitation is around 100 mbar, but several processes required accurate pressure measurements up to 5 mbar, and at the same time also do require Diaphragm Seals for protection of the pressure instrument. A process where very low pressure needs to be measured, is nitrogen blanketing. This is a commonly used technique to prevent process gases entering the atmosphere. To prevent this, a small nitrogen overpressure of approximately 10 mbar is applied to a vessel containing these gases. Accurate measurement of this small overpressure is necessary to minimize or even avoid interference with the process in the vessel. Additionally, a significant cost reduction is achieved by limiting the consumption of nitrogen to an absolute minimum.
How to overcome the ambient temperature effect with long capillaries for DP level measurements? First, always ensure the shortest capillaries possible to ensure least amount of volume in the complete system. Proper sizing of any diaphragm seal system is recommended (for example with Badotherm BaseCal tool), and it will help you understand the errors induced to the entire system based on the process and ambient conditions.
BaseCal is the web-based performance calculation tool for diaphragm seal applications, powered by Badotherm. The tool is intended for instrumentation engineers or anyone wishing to understand the effect of all variables and conditions on a diaphragm seal application. The tool calculates the total installed performance of the diaphragm seal application, including the transmitter. BaseCal allows you to easily change different variables and conditions, so you can simulate and analyse the effects of these different variables.
Badotherm capsule pressure gauge model BDT9 is available in standard ranges from 16 mbar up to 600 mbar. The gauges are suitable for corrosive environments and gaseous media that will
attack copper alloys. This pressure gauge is typically used for applications in the chemical, petro-chemical, oil & gas, power and utilities, machine building and general process industries medium.
Badotherm pressure gauge model BDT12 is a diaphragm type pressure gauge and suitable for all gaseous and liquid media, as well as for viscous media and suspended solids. This pressure gauge is
typically used for applications in the chemical, petro-chemical, oil & gas, power and utilities, machine building and general process industries. These gauges can be made with threaded connections and flanged connections according ANSI, DIN, and JIS standards.
