For one of our key customers in the chemical industry, located in the southern part of The Netherlands, we supplied a very nice diaphragm seal system which we don’t see that often. , we frequently see gold coatings and we frequently see PTFE linings, but we don’t see that much the combination of these two in one system.
This gold coating makes the diaphragm seals both corrosion resistant and perfectly protected against hydrogen permeation. A gold coating of 25µm is market standard, but the 40µm thickness option is for increased lifetime and durability and often used when customers want sure! Additionally, the lower part of this seal type USL-F was equipped with a 1mm thick PTFE lining to protect the material against mechanical attack of chlorides. The suitable inert filling fluid BSO-25 meets the process temperature and pressure requirements.
It contains a diaphragm seal application with a 24 carat, 40µm layer of Gold Coating for the diaphragm and other than the diaphragm, the wetted parts are protected by the PTFE lining of 1mm thickness.
